FAQs

What happens at the end of the IRA Certificate’s term?

Once the IRA Certificate has reached maturity (finished its term), you can elect to either:

  1. Renew at the same term with the current rate option.
  2. Invest in a new F&A IRA Certificate with a new term.
  3. Transfer your money to an F&A IRA Savings Account

Can I withdraw my money early from an IRA Certificate?

If you withdraw funds from the IRA Certificate before it has reached maturity and you do not meet certain requirements, you will incur a penalty.

What is the difference between an IRA Certificate and a IRA Savings Account?

An IRA Certificate offers a fixed rate and term. Your funds earn a guaranteed return but are locked in until the term ends. A IRA Savings Account works like a standard Savings Account: Your money earns dividends while staying accessible for retirement investment changes.
